The University of Alicante was invited to present GADGET in Serbia, a potential European member state, in an international conference on technology transfer organised by the University of Nis in June 2013.

The conference was held under the framework of a Tempus project, National Platform for Knowledge Triangle in Serbia (KNOWTS) and attracted academics from the globe. The idea and methodology of GADGET was presented in the Western Balkans and a paper, “GADGET: A cooperative project methodology to developing university-industry linkages via the triple helix approach” was also submitted with the project preliminary findings.
